PulseGrid Home: see where your home's power goes, live

Most households only think about electricity once a month, when the bill arrives and it is already too late to change anything. PulseGrid Home turns that around: it shows what the house is using right now, room by room and appliance by appliance, so the decisions that lower the bill can be made while they still matter.

A single PulseGrid sensor clips onto the cables in the meter box. There is no rewiring and nothing to plug into every socket. Within a few minutes the app draws the whole home as one live line, and as the days pass it learns to pick out the big loads on their own: the hot water system, the fridge, the dryer, the heat pump, the oven, the pool pump.

The first surprise is usually the baseline — the power a home draws at three in the morning when everyone is asleep. Old fridges in the garage, set-top boxes that never really sleep, a heated towel rail left on since winter: together they often add up to a fifth of the bill. PulseGrid shows that number every night and celebrates when it drops.

Heating and cooling are the next big lever. The app shows how much each degree on the thermostat costs over a week, and how long the house holds its temperature after the system turns off. Many families find they can start heating later, finish earlier, and feel no difference at all.

For homes on time-of-use tariffs, every hour has a price. PulseGrid colours the day by cost and suggests the cheapest windows for the dishwasher, the washing machine and electric vehicle charging. A simple reminder at the right moment saves more than any gadget.

Homes with solar panels see generation and use side by side. It becomes obvious when the roof is exporting cheap power at noon while the house buys expensive power at six, and which jobs can be moved into the sunny hours. Battery owners can check that their charge schedule actually matches how the family lives.

Appliances wear out quietly. A fridge whose compressor runs longer every month, a dryer that takes an extra twenty

PulseGrid Home shows where your household's electricity goes, live and appliance by appliance. One clip-on sensor in the meter box, alerts when something drifts, and the few easy changes that cut the bill most.
