PulseGrid: see your home's energy use as it happens
PulseGrid started with a simple question: why does a household only find out how much energy it used when the bill arrives? Most homes run dozens of devices around the clock — water heaters, air conditioners, fridges, routers, chargers — and almost none of them say what they cost while they are running. PulseGrid was built to make that visible, one circuit at a time.
At its core, PulseGrid is a small clamp-on sensor that sits in the main electrical panel and reads the current on each circuit every second. The readings are sent to the PulseGrid app, which turns them into a live picture of the home: what is drawing power right now, which rooms use the most, and how today compares with the same day last week. There is no rewiring and no smart plugs to buy for every socket; a licensed electrician fits the sensor in about thirty minutes.
The part people notice first is the live pulse. Open the app and you see a single line that rises and falls with the home's demand. Switch on the kettle and it jumps; turn off the air conditioner and it settles. Over a few days that line teaches more about a household's habits than a year of bills. Families tell us they find the old freezer in the garage that runs all night, the water heater that reheats a full tank at two in the morning, or the gaming PC that never really sleeps.
PulseGrid then learns the shape of each appliance. Every device has a signature — the way its draw starts, peaks and cycles. After a short learning period the app labels those signatures automatically, so the dashboard reads "washing machine, 0.9 kWh" rather than "circuit 4". When a familiar device starts behaving strangely, for example a fridge compressor that cycles twice as often as it used to, PulseGrid flags it before it turns into a repair bill.
Saving energy should not mean living with spreadsheets. PulseGrid keeps the advice short and specific. Instead of generic tips, the app suggests one change at a time and shows what it is worth: shift the
PulseGrid shows a home's energy use live, circuit by circuit. One clamp-on sensor in the panel, an app that learns each appliance, and short, specific advice that cuts the bill. Built for households, rooftop solar owners and small businesses.
